Sammie had a lot of physiotherapy as a child and understands the frustrations of restricted movement. Having previously worked as a Maternity Nurse and Breast Feeding Consultant it was a natural progression to specialise as Pre & Postnatal Soft Tissue Therapist. Sammie is drawn to manual therapy and has deepened her knowledge by specialising further in Scar Massage Therapy and Fascial Release.
From suffering with a bad back on a regular basis and from all the aches and pains of daily life, Mel found the benefits of regular massage. Massage became part of her self care. She wanted to help, not only fellow athletes but also those with everyday aches and pains and now offers Soft Tissue Therapy/Sports Massage which is beneficial to all and helps with those everyday aches and pains as well as sports related injuries.
Jane I a registered midwife and is an. experienced birth educator, having taught antenatal education within the NHS for many years. Jane offers a unique skill set & is passionate about empowering women to achieve the right birth on the day for them.
Jane established Hypnobirthing in Dorset 12 years ago, and remains a strong Hypnobirthing advocate within the midwifery team. Her gentle and informative approach uses evidence based education and empowerment , providing women with the tools they need to make informed choices. Her qualifications include; BA Hons Midwifery, Professional bodies: Member of The Royal College of Midwives, Hypnotherapy at Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis, Qualified as a Professional Life Coach.
Saira is a Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher and Holistic Therapist, she also runs yoga retreats here in Dorset and abroad. She has been working with therapies since 2004 and began her journey with healing when she faced the challenge of being a single mother to her 3 children for 14 years. She is convinced that yoga and holistic therapies saved her sanity on many occasions! Her yoga retreats have won multiple awards in recent years and she is on her own quiet and gentle mission to help her clients heal, find peace, recover from trauma and grief, as well as simply relax and find sacred space to unwind and get away from the busy-ness of life, whether it be on the mat or on the massage couch.
Having personally adopted and studied mindfulness over 12 years, Sue is passionate about the changes it can bring to today’s busy life. She turned to Mindfulness at a very difficult time in her life, or rather Mindfulness found her! And has learnt to manage her worries in a different way, rather than let them consume her, she became calmer and far more efficient, engaging more fully with her life, rather than spending her life in her head! Lucy is a registered nurse. She started her business Catching Rainbows in 2009 and has been supporting women ever since through Reiki, Reflexology and Clinical Hypnotherapy. She offers a unique approach combining her nursing background, clinical knowledge, intuitive hands on 1-1 care to support women going through any stage of creating their family. Lucy provides 1-1 support for fertility, IVF optimisations, secondary & unexplained infertility, & offers a caring service for woman experiencing miscarriage and pregnancy loss as well as those trying to cope with getting through the anxiety that pregnancy can bring. Sessions allow space to talk as well as time for carefully tailored hands on treatments where appropriate. Nichola discovered reflexology when working in a stressful career, suffering with IBS and low mood. When the option of redundancy was offered, Reflexology was a natural choice. She is especially interested in supporting clients with pain management as well as general well-being. Tamara has been practising osteopathy for the whole family for over 20 years, originally in London but mainly in Dorset.

She likes to think it does exactly what it says on the tin! Caroline has immersed herself in the nuturing world of self-care, training in a wide range of holistic therapies to enhance her own life and share the benefits with others. As a busy working mum to 3 girls, she is only too aware of the importance of finding a balance in life to maintain good mental health. She has recently qualified in the powerful healing technique of gong sound baths and is a certified personal development practitioner specialising in NLP, hypnosis and Time Line Therapy.
Emma has used flower essences for more than 25 years, having discovered sensitivities to medication and looking to more holistic and complementary therapies to support her physical and emotional wellbeing. They have enabled her and her family to move through significant health and life challenges. After relocating from a hectic life and job as a project manager in London to rural Dorset, with her husband and 5 children, she changed career and retrained as an Advanced Practitioner in Flower and Vibrational Practitioner and now works with multiple essence ranges from around the world, supporting clients through all stages of life. Her particular areas of interest are women’s health, mental health wellbeing, family dynamics and children’s sensory issues and she is currently developing a range of essences harnessing the healing power of the Dorset landscape.
Heide is a clinical hypnotherapist with a MSc in clinical hypnosis, naturopath (Heilpraktiker) and meditation instructor, based in Dorchester and London. In her work, Heide focuses on treatments for stress and anxiety which are often associated with lack of self-confidence or self esteem. These problems can also be experienced by musicians, actors or athletes but also generally in the work environment, in exam situations, or any kind of performance or demonstration. Likewise, medical conditions can lead to stress and anxiety.
Jo is an experienced Physiotherapist having been qualified for 23 years. She has worked in pelvic health for the last 15 years in both the NHS and private practice. Jo is passionate about Women’s Health and recently became a Mummy MOT Practitioner. She especially enjoys helping to improve a client’s quality of life and believes that every Mum should have a Mummy MOT, “when we have a baby, the focus is usually all about the baby and not enough on mum” Jo is a busy working Mum & understands how difficult it is to look after ourselves when we are looking after everyone else’s. Her role is to empower a client to understand their body and to take charge of influencing how it works. Jo see’s the huge benefits of physiotherapy for both physical and psychological symptoms and loves her job as a Physiotherapist.
Alan learnt and experienced the benefits of many natural health therapies over 30 years, after suffering a nervous breakdown and depression. That difficult time inspired him to help others to have a positive outlook on life compounding those strong beliefs by qualifying as a Swedish Massage Therapist. He resigned from a management job of 25 years to focus on his passion of Complementary Therapies for wellness and is very excited to join The Breathing Space. Alan is a member of the Federation of Holisitc Therapists.
