The Breathing Space is the vision of award wining Women’s Wellness Coach, Sammie Mcfarland. Sammie wanted to create a space that offers a holistic approach to wellness, and brings people together in Dorset. She imagined a safe and welcoming space, where clients can discover the joy of movement, and the benefits of selfcare, guided by specialists in their field.
Movement and selfcare are two passions close to Sammie’s heart, having overcome the adversity of a long term health condition, and abusive relationship.
Thanks to ‘movement’ and ‘selfcare’, and the support of some amazing people, Sammie has turned her passion into a deep knowledge which she now shares with others.
The Breathing Space provides two beautiful, accessible studios, and a baby friendly health cafe offering community and friendship to the women that join us.
Specialist coaches offer a balanced timetable of restorative classes, high energy dance and fitness, weights, mindfulness, teenage and children’s classes, rehabilitation, and classes for pure joy. There is something for every age.
There are weekly & monthly classes that centre around women’s wellness providing inspirational and appropriate sessions for women in all life phases, from birth classes and postnatal fitness to classes for bone health and balance. Workshops and events run throughout the year.
Specific sessions welcome men, including pilates, yoga and mindfulness and birth classes.
Whatever else is happening in life, every woman deserves time for herself. Movement should energise and bring joy, feel great for the body and nourish the mind.
